Meet Russ Dhooge, SVP, Product Management at IP Commerce.

What do you do at IP Commerce?

I’m responsible for the management and development of our Product and Quality Assurance team. In addition to ensuring quality product for our customers, I try extra hard to make sure IP Commerce is as an exciting and fun place to work for the team as it is for me.

What’s your best work memory?

I was fortunate enough to act as Product Manager for our Commerce Boarding product. Commerce Boarding was a new leading-edge tool for our partners that enabled them to win more business in less time by automating laborious and expensive underwriting procedures. We launched this product for a number of large customers and helped a couple of our customers truly transform the payments processing business for truly small business. That product was exciting to design, launch, and grow. Today, Commerce Boarding is still running strong and our customers LOVE it. Proud to be a part of that team and at the product management helm for it.

What is your favorite thing about working here?

I have a fantastic team that really owns their work and takes enormous pride in what they do. Coupled with their professionalism and enthusiasm for the technology, it’s like working with a group of you best friends. Everyone has your back and cares for one another and our customers, and that makes IP Commerce a pretty special place to be.

Tell us something unique about yourself.

I’m a poet and a lover.

What’s your favorite Denver neighborhood?

Right here in Lower Downtown! It’s a great place to work, the bus service in Denver makes it an easy commute, and there’s always something going on! Once a month the team has the luxury of getting out and socializing and there’s no shortage of fun and new places to try out. In the summer, we have access to the Food Truck events at Civic Center… makes coming into work a lot of fun!

Which mobile app do you use the most?

A mobile Banking application. Love it! All the convenience of full service banking without the hassle of going to the bank, and I can stay on top of personal finance, transfer money between accounts, make mortgage payments, pay bills, and watch out for fraud from anywhere.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees, because I really can feel the city shak’n!

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?

Paris. I had to be in Paris for work and my wife was able to join me for the trip. I had been there a bunch of times, but she had never been, so one of the best parts was experiencing the city from her eyes. We did all the touristy things (Louvre, Notre Dame, Catacombs, etc.) but some of our best memories include walking around the city or finding a great little shop with fromage and baguettes for lunch.
