Here at Commerce Sync, we believe a company is only as good as the employees who build it. We’re proud to have an incredibly talented team and we’d love for you to get to know some of our employees a little better.

Meet Jason Moorehead, Application Architect at Commerce Sync

What do you do at Commerce Sync?

At one point several years ago I was the sole developer on Commerce Sync. I wrote or collaborated on the production of a large portion of the current code base. I still do a lot of that. Additionally I try to provide direction regarding technical best practices when the need arises.

More recently I have gotten the opportunity to design and lead the development of some additional Commerce Sync systems and components to support a new and improved experience for our QuickBooks Desktop users.

What’s your best work memory?

One of my best memories is when our development team was given the chance to overhaul a build, test and deploy process that was starting to show its age. We needed to automate a lot of the mundane tasks that are part of a developer’s job, which in turn gives us more time to write code and make our products something that the entire company can be proud of. There are many different options to consider for environment automation. I’d put the features, configurability and reliability of our systems up against anybody’s.

What is your favorite thing about working here?

The people. This is truly the best group of people I’ve ever had the chance to work with. We have an amazingly talented staff that is smart, capable and completely reliable, which is refreshing and allows everyone to really perform at their best.

Tell us something unique about yourself.

I have bowled a perfect game. More than one, actually. But that was a long time ago.

What’s your favorite Denver neighborhood?

I’m a fan of any neighborhood that is in close proximity of downtown since there is never a shortage of things to do. I really like being able to walk to restaurants and shops while having access to our light rail system.

Which mobile app do you use the most?

Rdio

What would you sing at karaoke night?

I’ve done karaoke exactly once in my life and I sang Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. I have since retired from karaoke for reasons that anybody that saw my initial performance can attest to.

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?

That’s a tough one because I’m a fan of getting out and going anywhere that I haven’t been before. But that being said, I already live in paradise. Just about every weekend in Colorado is a vacation. One of my favorite activities is skiing and snowboarding, so the weekend trips where we can get away and spend some time in the mountains are probably my favorite.
